[Summer 2025] 4 Guns Guntubers are Obsessed With Right Now

Love it or hate it, the Internet isn’t going anywhere. And that definitely goes for GunTube. There are even signs it’s changing how we learn about firearms and tactical gear. So we gotta weigh in. Here’s our take on summer GunTube trends: what we’ll take, what we’ll leave, and everything in between.

What’s Big on GunTube (for Better or Worse)?

Much of GunTube is as it ever was, attracting mostly younger and more racially-diverse gun owners, hobbyists, and enthusiasts. But we have spotted a few new trends on GunTube this summer:

  • Every-Day Carry (EDC) Gear Review: Reviewers are linking to Amazon shops using Campsite bio microlinks to make shopping and purchasing faster and simpler.
  • Shorts: YouTube Shorts (their answer to TikToks and Reels) are a great way for gunfluencers to get bite-sized info and updates to their audience.
  • Community Engagement: This, we love. GunTube is a thriving virtual meet-up spot for like-minded gun nerds, newbs and veterans alike.
  • Drama: This, we don’t. Finding dirt on GunTubers ain’t our thing, and it never will be.
  • Podcasts: Plenty of Guntubers are on the video podcast bandwagon, with lots of topics to explore and deep-dive on. [Tread carefully out there. Not all gunfluencers are created equal.]
  • Custom and Modular Guns, Gear, and Equipment: Modular Weapons Systems (MWS) and equipment are growing in popularity among GunTubers, likely thanks to their range of applications and uses.

Our Favorite GunTubers: Summer 2025

There are a lot of great gunfluencers adding their two cents online. Here are some we watch and trust [Translation: they’re cool, they’re fun, and they know their s**t.]:

  • Print, Shoot, Repeat: PSR touts Music, 3D-printed guns, and lots of other fun stuff.
  • Garand Thumb: Retired military, Garand’s channel mixes humor, fitness, and gun nerd content.
  • 1 Shot TV: Gun and tech tests, firearm myth-busting, and more!
  • Administrative Results: Yep, being a “professional larper” is a thing. And it’s pretty damn cool.
  • PewView: “Gun content with a twist”… you never know what you might see.
  • Micah Mayfield: Micah tinkers with and tests a range of firearms, so you know what to expect.
  • Honest Outlaw: Helpful, honest gun reviews for anyone looking to learn more about (and/or eventually purchase) a firearm.

GunTubers’ Picks: Do They Live Up Hype?

It’s inevitable, some guns end up getting overhyped online, while others don’t get enough love. We’re putting the Ruger RXm and the Glock 19 in the Overhyped Corner this summer. No offense if they’re your top two. But in our opinion, they’re too similar to other guns out there for us to get excited about them. When we hype something, it’s truly unique or especially high-performing.

Case in point: the Canik Series. Sleek, lightweight, and lots of great features for its price and size. We’re also big fans of the Springfield Echelon 4.0C: it’s compact, has tons of features, and it’s modular (so you can customize it to your tastes and interests).

New to GunTube? Our Advice for Beginners

The great thing about the Internet is, anyone can use it. The frustrating thing? Anyone can use it. If you’re new GunTube and online gun communities, here’s what we recommend for a safe, enjoyable experience:

  • Have questions? Find someone who is both entertaining and experienced in using firearms in multiple settings.
  • Get specific with your searches to find advice that you need for your particular situation. [If you only watch content from former Navy Seals, you might see some cool stuff. But it probably won’t help you find the best home defense gun for your experience/skill level.]
  • Stick to honest reviews: Sponsored/branded content is there to sell, not to help you find the best-fit gun or gear for your situation.
  • A note for GunTubers: SOFs aren’t the only ones with experience/situational firearm usage expertise. Don’t be afraid to highlight your unique experience and qualifications. It could make the difference for someone new to the firearms/tactical gear space.
